Good for base camp service also if some gear agreeded was missing and the cook didn't speak english. Bad for High altitude service and I ask for a refund for this also to the Minister of tourism at the de-briefing. This agency left me alone on the mountain with a people they call "guide" but for example: he lost in the icefall and ask me to find the way, he didn't know how use an ice-screw and he used 8 meter of static rope as "safety rope", didn't speak well english, he was very slow moving uphill and ask for rest too many times, he was bully and so on. One tent on High Camp was broken and was never fixed/replaces. The fixed rope missing partially on the mountain and they doesn't have a team on the mountain to end the work (I think they hoped the others agency end the work) and mantain them working. First dinner at High Camp 1: white rice with hot water. Climbing is already a challenge at high altitude and if also the agency have lack of services a challenge become a war insteas of a funny experience.

This was a first attempt on a 8000m peak - Broad Peak through Karakoram Expeditions and extremely happy to have gone with them. It has been an amazing and unforgettable trip.
From the beginning stages of planning the expedition, both Mirza and Samiya were very helpful and always there to answer the numerous questions and queries that we had.
The support team from when we started the initial trek to base camp was great. The food provided by Kaka and his full team was very good throughout the entire expedition.
My guide Waqars expertise, help and encouragement definitely spurred me on during my tired phases and also improved my climbing confidence on the mountain. The full team of guides that we had were very professional and helpful especially when it came to navigating the risk of rock fall and tough conditions on the mountain this summer. The team ensured that we all got to base camp safely during all the rotations. Thank you all very much.

The K2 Basecamp Trek in Pakistan’s Karakoram Range has long been considered one of the world’s most challenging and rewarding journeys. For years, I dreamt of walking those legendary trails, but like many travelers, life delayed my plans. This year, I finally made the time, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary.

Having trekked in Nepal before, I arrived with a sense of readiness, but what unfolded far exceeded my expectations. I chose Karakorum Expeditions, and from beginning to end, their professionalism, organization, and hospitality were exemplary. In fact, they delivered a standard of care and comfort that felt almost unimaginable at such high altitudes.

The trekking expedition team, Mutarza, Ali, Mohammed Ali, Abbas, and Ibrahim, were exceptional. Their strength and dedication carried me across grueling elevations with remarkable efficiency. The culinary experience was another surprise: meals prepared by the camp chef were hearty, diverse, and delicious, offering a sense of comfort that balanced the demands of the trail. I literally ate “as much as I could”, lol.

Most memorable was the guidance of Aymim Sha, an outstanding Guide whose expertise and vigilance ensured safety on treacherous glacier crossings. His presence turned moments of uncertainty into experiences of confidence and trust.

I was struck by the warmth and kindness extended to me throughout the journey. I was not treated as an outsider, but rather as an integral member of the Karakorum Expeditions family, a welcome reminder that the mountains belong to all who dare to climb or visit them.

Behind it all stand Mirza and Samiya, the visionaries who have built a community and a global hub for adventurers of every background, a place where dreams of exploration are not only supported but celebrated, I am forever grateful to you.

Unforgettable Trek with Karakoram Expeditions

The K2 Base Camp trek with Karakoram Expeditions will forever be my most cherished travel experience. It was physically demanding, emotionally rewarding, and exceeded every expectation I might have had.

I initially chose Karakoram Expeditions because they were willing to organize a solo trek for me, something a number of companies were less than enthused about. But more importantly, they have a great reputation in the region. Any company setting ropes on K2 and Broad Peak is one I trust to be organized and keep clients safe. And they delivered.

From the start, Samiya, Mirza and Nisar were incredibly responsive and helpful. They went out of their way to customize the trek to suit my desires, ensure I was comfortable, and make the experience truly special. Their genuine care came through in every interaction. It was clear they weren’t just running a business. They demonstrated often that they truly wanted this to be special for me.

My guide Essa (from Askole itself)was one of the highlights. From the first day, we just clicked. He’s fun, and wise well beyond his years, and had a steady confidence that I found immediately reassuring. Whether it was helping me with challenging route sections, encouraging me at altitude, or waking me in the middle of the night so I could photograph K2 under clear skies, he constantly went above and beyond.

Muhammad, our cook, also made the experience special. I was il before the start of the trek, and he adjusted my meals so I could still eat and keep going. His food was consistently excellent, but the moments he created were so memorable — like the day he found a cave on a rainy afternoon and served hot soup overlooking the Baltoro Glacier. Every lunch spot was special.

The porters were incredibly hardworking and kind. Every time I arrived at camp they cheered me on — it felt like rejoining a group of friends.

And beyond the Karakoram team, I have to say: all of the Pakistani people I met were some of the kindest, most welcoming, and selfless individuals I’ve ever encountered.

Thanks to Essa’s expert guidance and the team’s support, I completed the full route safely and happily.

When I return to Pakistan for my next trek, there’s no question I’ll be choosing Karakoram Expeditions again, and I will absolutely request Essa as my guide.
