I visited Chitral National Park at the top of the mountain. The scenery was really beautiful, with the mountains around and the fresh air. Felt great to explore such a peaceful place.

Chitral Gol is a stunning wild gem. The track is totally accessible, so 4x4s and bikes can come easily. Inside, you'll get incredible views of Tirich Mir peak, ancient cedar forests, and a chance to spot the legendary Markhors. Pure, peaceful, and perfect for riders or hikers. 10/10!

Chitral Gol National Park in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is one of Pakistan’s most stunning and biodiverse protected areas, and it absolutely lives up to the hype.
Perched high in the Hindu Kush, the park is famous for housing the world’s largest population of the Kashmir markhor— Pakistan’s national animal. If you time it right, around 4-5 PM, you can spot them grazing on the slopes. It’s also home to Pakistan’s national bird, the chakor, and national tree, the deodar cedar, including a 300-year-old deodar called Chaghbini.
The views are the real highlight. You get 360-degree panoramas and a clear line of sight to Tirich Mir, at 7,708m the highest peak outside the Himalayas. The park covers 7,750 hectares across three valleys, with glaciers, streams, and cedar forests. Wildlife beyond markhor includes snow leopards, Himalayan black bear, wolves, and ibex.
Getting there is part of the adventure. It’s about a 2-hour drive from Chitral city on a narrow, winding 4x4 track. Inside, you’ll find jeepable routes to Chaghbini Hut and hiking trails to Kasawir, Gokshal, and Marine Huts at different elevations. Most visitors pack a picnic and enjoy the clean, trash-free environment at around 9,000 ft.
It’s rated 4.9/5 on Tripadvisor with 24 reviews, and travelers consistently call it “the best national park in Pakistan”. Just note that travel advisories currently recommend avoiding non-essential travel to the area, so check local conditions before planning.
If you love mountains, wildlife, and untouched landscapes, Chitral Gol is worth the trip.

Wildlife reserve park, protected by the local authorities. Whole park is located on the height. You will gain elevation of around 500M . The road is very dangerous and breathtaking. The Chiral city and airport can be seen deep in the valley. The Gol National Park is the home of Markhor. Bring food and water along with you.

Located at 12,000 feet which may cause trouble for southern visitors but this place is worth all the hardships and the cricket ground up there is so beautiful and such a calm and relaxing place. Locals are very sweet and supportive.

The National Park is located at a significant height than the rest of the district, and therefore provides picturesque views of the entire valley. While observing the valley from such an elevation, one can denote how the Hindu Kush range is almost interconnected, with one mountain intertwining with another, which adds to the overall charm of the place.
Apart from the views of the valley that the national park offers, the Jeep ride leading up to the destination itself was absolutely magical, where one experiences snow, sand and vegetation in a singular frame. Once you reach the top of the National Park you are acquainted with spectacular mountains on all four sides, and apparently there is a trek of around 3-4hrs present once you reach the top which most people are unaware of (even we ourselves got to know about it after leaving).
If ever in Chitral district or passing through, spend a day at the national park and put your mind at ease under the auspice of natural beauty.

Definitely a beautiful place along with breathtaking views, it took almost an hour drive from Chitral city. It is home to some endangered species like Markhoor, Snow Leopards etc, if you are lucky you will be able to spot some. Must carry water and some eatables, you will not get any food stall in between. Washroom not maintained properly. Beautiful hiking track is available for hiking lover.

The drive to the park features a winding, rocky dirt road, so be prepared for a bit of a bumpy ride. That said, the rising altitude affords spectacular views of a sweeping landscape. From Chitral City nestled in the lap of the surrounding range (keep an eye out for the airstrip!) to the grandeur of rolling mountains reaching towards shockingly blue skies - scenic is the word I'd use.
The park itself features delightful trails for the more adventurous (sturdy shoes are a must) as well as secreted nooks for picnicking. It tends to get chillier towards the evening so dress accordingly.
Definitely a place which is a prime example of the breathtaking beauty of our Pakistani landscape. Stunning!
